Item attempted to purchase: DN4-HDSS
OK let me start by saying I hate bashing but when I feel that I have received the brunt end of the stick I do my part to make sure that no one else “A” will have to go through it or “B” someone else can tell me I am a fool and this kind of stuff happens all the time.
The issue started over a week and half or more (02-04-09 thru 02-05-09-ish). I purchased a DN4-HDSS shipped to my door at 593.15. Great deal only two other companies were even close in price at the time. Two things to note here, the part stated it was in stock and that it was 20% off per the webpage at the time of purchase. (I’m thinking sale, Great right!).
That Fri I called Prostreetonline and got a hold of the only guy in the sales department that seems to answer the phone which comes to find out is the sales manager. He said basically, oops the part is on back order I will notify you when it comes in and will update my order status online(no big deal ….yet). I wait till Wed to Use the email me live method available.

Nope that is perfect! I was looking for a time frame and you have delivered. When I hear "back ordered" I think weeks not days. I was just looking for a recovery date from ACT.
Thank you, to all at Pro Street. I will be looking fwd to receiving my clutch soon.

OK I am now expecting my part to be shipped no problems. Until……..Today(02-13-09). I am at work the phone rings. Its Prostreetsonlie’s Sales Manager. He has called to notify me that my DN4-HDSS is in and I owe $100+ (I thought he said 112) more than the originally agreed upon final sale price that was added to my credit card at the time of sale. How much can you argue at work without getting fired at work? I returned a phone call and he (the sales manager) negotiates the price down to $663.xx(however he did offer me to take my money bak…totally not the point). Why am I negotiating at this point, because I am fishing for information? The point is they promised a price they cannot meet. The line the vendor changed the price (ACT) and now they are going to lose money. I understand…not my problem (sounds selfish because it is). All sales should be final I used to be a business owner not all sales make money. My rep was more important to me. You take you loss like a man and recover it especially If they truly are the number one web page in sales of aftermarket parts they will have no problem in recovering there loss.
At this point of the renegotiation we are talking $70 on top of the final sale price originally promised. I do not deal with price jumpers after a final sale is made. Since it is only roughly 100$ it is only considered a petty crime and not worth my time to go after them (per
Official California Legislative Information and the DMV investigation board 510-780-1388(pubic knowledge)). My pride is worth more than even the hundred dollars. However, with a couple of responses I would like to have a couple of questions responded to
Has this type of stuff happened to any of you?
Is this just the way the industry is as indicated but the sales manager of prostreetonline or a line of bull malarkey?
One last thing to mention! As I was disgusted I decided to review the website today and review the new drastically higher price. The 20% off badge is gone and replaced with an “always in stock” badge. Funny, the “in stock” part seems to be what started this whole issue in the first place.
Sorry for the long post but this is my complete story. I will do my best to field questions regarding this post over the next week.
Positive note
Go Modern Performance
On a positive note I purchase a set of aftermarket LED taillights from Modern performance the same exact night. They were quick to respond. Kept me up to date with my package and installed as advertised and I love the new Led Taillights I bought (black). I will be doing business with Modern performance again in the near future.
