Default Kustomatix

I feel it's my obligation to my fellow SRT owners to let you know how Chris at Kustomatix does business. A few of you may have seen my first post about my displeasure in my dealings with Kustomatix, Chris in particular as he's the one I've been dealing with. After posting that thread Chris responded to me almost immediately and asked that I remove the thread and he would make things right. Since I was not trying to be an asshole I agreed. Well things aren't fixed and I'm so feed up with his lies and lack of respect for me that I'm forced to put this out for everyone!

This all began in December of 2005. I was in the market for a big turbo kit and was approached by Chris via IM about buying a kit from him (Kustomatix.) After talking with him I decided to buy a Kinetic .50 trim kit, Kinetic hardpipe kit, and Walbro fuel pump.

Original Transaction
Date Type Status Details Amount
Dec. 1, 2005 Payment To Kustomatix Completed Details -$2,550.00 USD

Related Transaction

Dec. 1, 2005 Transfer From Credit Card Completed ... $2,550.00 USD

During my time of purchasing items from Chris he was very helpful and VERY easy to get a hold of. My turbo kit arrived within a week but I was missing the hard pipe kit and fuel pump. I asked Chris about the items and he assured me that I would get them soon. At this point I saw no reason for alarm and since and I decided to order a DTEC FC/BC from him as well. Also at this time I still had not received all of my first order. I was still missing the hard pipe kit and fuel pump.

So as you can see two weeks later I still had not received ALL my stuff from the original purchase. I'm not saying two weeks is to long to wait but I had NO advisement from Chris about when I could expect my stuff. I wasn't worried about it at this point. About a week later my DTEC and the fuel pump showed up from AGP. So, now were at three weeks since my original order and I was still missing the hard pipe kit. During the next few months I called the shop, nobody every answered, left messages, sent PMs, etc. and was unable to get ahold of Chris. Finally, Josh PMd me saying that he would look into it for me. Still no hardpipes showed up. Here's a few PMs from myself and Chris. This was written 1/26/2006.

I've been waiting for nearly two months and now your hard to get a hold of. Last time I talked to you I thought this was being shipped. I need you to get in touch with me ASAP! thanks,

jason

Hello Jason-

Sorry I have been hard to get ahold of. I am back from business now. Our shipping guy left without notification for the air force for a week, maybe the box got set aside. Ill check into it for you, worst case scenario is it is still sitting there and can go right out.

-Chris

Well?? Where's the damn package?? I want to the tracking number or just give me my money back!

Yep it is still here, want it to go out or want a refund? Whatevers best for you man, I appreciate your patience and this ones our fault, so let me know brother.

-Chris

I probably won't ever buy anything from you again but in the end i just want what i paid for. It sucks not knowing where your stuff is or when you might get it. If you're going to run a company you need to be there for your customers when things go wrong. Take the time to let them know that their order is or might be delayed. Please send the Kinetic pipe kit w/Tial BOV that I ordered December 2nd 2005 ASAP! I'd like to receive a tracking number too this time. Thanks for replying,

Jason

Ok, I just replied to your review thread, I can get it out tomorrow for you. I understand if you dont buy from us again, what a pain this box has been for both of us

-Chris

Chris,
I'll remove my review thread once I get my pipe kit. I'm not trying to be an asshole. thanks!

jason

I dont like to ask people to remove threads, but in this case could you remove it tonight before a million people see it, ill call you with tracking tomorrow, if I dont you can post it up permanently!

-Chris

Chris,
Can I get a tracking number? thanks,

jason

About a week or so ago I received a box from Kustomatix. But wait.. what the hell is this. A box full of newspaper with pipes and crap all just thrown together. The Tial BOV was not in a box and missing parts and the hardpipe that goes from the turbo to the intercooler was MIA. FUCK!!! I had the displeasure of tracking Chris down again, did I say this is NOT easy to do?? Finally, I just called up Kinetic Motorsports and paid again for the part I had already bought from Chris. Wouldn't you know Chris called me the same day and said "oh I have that pipe sitting here in the shop" WTF I'll send it out tomorrow and he was suppose to call Clay @ Kinetic and make things right. Two days later knowing how much of an irresponsible shit Chris is I called Clay and he informs me that he hasn't heard from Chris in a while. So basically I had to pay $120 for a pipe that I already bought from Kustomatix and Chris knew this and didn't even have the respect to call and make things right. So to end all this it's obvious that even after posting the negative thread the first time about Kustomatix, Chris still thinks it's a good idea to fuck me around! I have learned a valuable lesson and you guys should realize this could happen to you as well. STAY AWAY FROM Kustomatix at all cost. This has been THE worst experience I've ever had the displeasure of being a part of! Chris, you can keep your damn pipe. I'm just going to turn around and sell the stuff I WAS going to send you back. My prediction Kustomatix isn't going to be around very long. SRT forum administrators I think you should put a scammer/theif icon under this assholes name.

Is this the same Chris that used to go by cfree? The same one who had that whole fiasco with the autoluminations LED kits?

Same one....Kustomatix aka, cfree and FullyBuiltChris. Everytime I see a reason to order from them, it seems like a couple reasons pop up not to.

Well I can't speak for Chris, but I do admit that sometimes it is tough to get ahold of him. I know firsthand though, that he has tons on his plate. I also know that's not necessarily an excuse, I'm just telling you how it is.

I'm their machinist so if you need anything, let me know. Know in advance that I don't deal with the orders themselves, but perhaps I get get an answer to your questions, especially if you have something that is being ported. I would know about those jobs.

At any rate, I hope that this is an isolated case, but I also hope my reassurances will let business carry on as usual.

I hope it's an isolated incident. If not his business will not survive. He definately made me feel like I didn't exist, or that he just didn't care after I had paid him. After spending $3000 on parts within one month what does that say about this guy? I can understand being backed up but I was blatently ignored for most of two months. I would go as far to say I'd be careful about your dealings with him. It sucks having your name associated with bad people.

What a surprise it's not only me. So who else has been screwed by Chris Friedlund? Even those that had problems before Kustomatix? Looks like there's been problems with him at various businesses.

This is why you deal with vendors who have exclusive dealer's with companies such as Kinetic and AGP. I know of one in particular based in NJ who fit that description.

In all seriousness, Chris is a good kid but gets a little over his head sometimes. I know he means well and i'm sure he'll clear this up. Good luck to both parties.
