I had there e1 on my car for about 20 miles thought i had an issue with the turbo so i took it out and then put my stocker back in and it turned out that the e1 was "fine" so i sold the e1 to my buddy. We installed it and it ran great for about 2 days and then blew up. Now forward motion doesnt want to refund the money they want to charge me to fix it. DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM THEY SELL CRAP AND THE PEOPLE THERE ARE CRAP

You were told the warranty does not tranfer from the original owner. At the rate that a turbo spins, if there was a problem with assembly it would fail as soon as you start the car up. There is a problem somewhere else or a mishap during install to make it fail. We gave you the best possible solution for your friend.

Red04 has a good point. You can't expect them to warranty it from one car to the other. I don't know of any vendor that will warranty a turbo to other than the original car. I wonder though why some of these blow up after all. Could it be they were not installed properly? There are a lot of e1's out there that don't blow up. Don't you have to "prime" the turbo with oil before the initial startup and break it in properly before running it hard? I'm planning on buying an e1 soon as well.
yup, if it was fine on your car then why did you take it off. And then when you did realize it was fine why didn't you put it back on your car? Then there wouldn't have been a warrenty issue. Sorry man but I have had an E1 on my car for the last year and have beaten the crap out of it at 25 psi. That little sucker is still running and taking a beating everyday. I think people need to stop being stupid and just trying to slap the thing in there without any care or thought put into it.
But I am a FM Fanboi Nut Hugger though so what do I know.

Man another thread bashing the E1. I have to agree it sucks, you invest your money and time and all you have is agravation and dissapointment. The E1 is great i have been in many rides with one and must say its something else. BUT this turbo is not "bolt on" as the forward says. If you have a boost leak this will cause your E1 to blow, if install goes bad your e1 can blow, if your unluckly your e1 will blow. The e1 requires a DIRECT fit FMIC meaning you can get the big one. I had a chance to pick one up but i didnt on account i am unlucky when it comes to modding.
BTW answering your question it does not require preoiling. Not even a break in period. There was one cause where a guy preoiled his an it still took a shit. So you never no.

I have seen the E1 hes talking about and the turbo was all messed up and i know it wasnt from installation or anything of that sort. You can see all the marks and scrathces inside the compressor housing where the wheel is scrapping it, and there is a huge amount of shaft play. My opinion is our stock turbo was not meant to be modified.
First off, let me start off by saying FM has one of the best cutomer service you can find on here, I had my E1 for a year spooled it at 22lbs of boost never had a problem, took me an hr to install it, it is a direct bolt on!!, also sold my e1 to my buddy who has gone and ported up, and guess what still nooo problems, so don't come on here bashing FM or the turbo they sold you, cause in reality i think the whole truth isn't being said and critical steps to installing this turbo we probaly skipped!!!

I have been working with the FM folks for over 10 years now. With my GLHS & now SRT4. No issues here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i installed the turbo exactly how the fm instuctions say and i have done at least 4 turbo installs and never had a problem. The turbo doesnt have more than 40 miles on the thing and his car runs perfect with the stock turbo that has 74k miles on it. I just think that fm doesnt do quality work i think they are bunch of freakin theives and do garbage work

No priming.....? Thats the number one problem, people get their info from other people that dont know what their talking about. Of course you should prime the turbo...why wouldnt you?
To the original poster, FM has been in the FWD Turbo Dodge business for a long time. They know what they're doing. You on the other hand, well, who are you? You either did something wrong on the install, or got a bad turbo, in which case, you should have contacted FM and they would have replaced it. Instead, you chose to (after suspecting a problem) sell it to your "buddy". Nice.
BTW, my E1 makes a conservative 321whp and hasnt given me a single problem yet.
