This is not a hate thread, just explaining what happened to me. I purchased an E1 and ran it for about 3 months and 5000 miles. One day while playing around launching the car and working on traction I hit full boost ( 24 lbs ), let off because of spin, and and went WOT again but no boost. It started making a high pitch buzzing noise and would build no boost at all. Hoping I had a boost leak I tested it but nothing. Took the turbo off and it was pretty much destroyed. Both wheels, shaft, and bearings need replaced. So I sent it to FM to see what they could do. After about 2 weeks of calling to see whats going on with it they tell me the obvious, I need a new one. Here is my problem, there One year warranty as stated on there web site is B/S. He said the warranty ends when you crank the car and the turbo works properly. Problem 2 is they want to charge me almost full retail price to get it repaired! I would expect to maybe pay for parts, but he told me they were still charging more than there cost.
They said failure was due to an over speed condition. I don't think I abused the turbo any more than some others running it, it would spike to 24 and fall to 19. I have a stage 2 WGA, MPx FMIC, 3" O2 and down pipe, and DSP. My stock turbo which had 97,000 miles on ran fine with this same set up! They also said they have seen this same failure on some other E1 's so beware.
Sorry to hear this, remember that its the heat and exhast back pressure that ruin the modded turbos. If you plan in getting another one I would invest into getting the machined tubine housing from us in the Economy manifold or the Intimidator manifold. Either one of these will cure the thrust and side loads created with these turbos.

If that is true, then that is some shoddy business practices. I don't recall reading of any real complaints of this nature against them in the past. I will have to search and see. I recall a bunch of delayed shipping issues but never warranty. That is wrong in my opinion.
Looks like your SOL man, sorry...
