Be careful with FullyBuilt ported turbo housings!!!
Not very impressed with my whole situation from doing business with Fullybuilt. I purchased a ported turbo housing from a group buy on March 11th.
First off, The group buy stated that there were 5 housings ready to go. Why did it take until April 18th to end up at my house. I did get some PM's from Josh telling me he broke his lathe and they would get finished when his lathe gets fixed. I never got an answer as to where the 5 ready to go housing were.
Then, the week before it shows up at my house a new group buy starts at $25 less then the one I bought from and mine isnt even shipped yet? I did get ahold of Josh and he just today got $50 refunded for this and for having to wait. Thats fine although I was on a time crunch because of my job and the time I had to work on the car was scheduled for the end of march but couldnt because I had no housing so I asked for a full refund and cancel my order but Josh said NO.
The whole situation sucked so much and not being honest with me means I will never do business again with Fully Built and I wasnt going to support this business by using the housing. No big deal, Who Cares, Whatever!
I was going to seel the housing being that I am not going to use it now but........When I got it and opend the box It had OVERSPRAY all over the inside of the housing. That kind of sucks so now I have to clean it up before I can get rid of it because thats just how I am being and that the person who did the porting and coating(fully built) didnt care to send out a good looking product.
Now for the whole purpose of this thread.
When I was cleaning all the overspray off of the inside of the housing, I was using some scotchbrite and brake cleaner and as I was spraying it out I got some small clumps of ALUMINUM SHAVINGS!!!!! I decided to investigate further and found that there was a bunch of clumps way up in the housing in the part that the air exits and goes to the rest of the motor!!!
Very disturbed/upset to see this from a finished product especially from something of this importance.
Not trying to directly bash anyone here as I have already stated I will NOT be doing any business with him again, More just trying to make sure EVERYONE checks there housings before install as you could have the same issue and that really cant be good to run shavings through your motors.
sorry to hear that.
i waited ALOT longer then you did to get some of my stuff, i have the FBM ported turbo housing and manifold, both were great port work. i liked them so i ordered the FBM ported intake mani, spacer and TB, and they are even better IMO. i dont have a problem rocking fully built parts on my car.
We have done business with FullyBuilt and will continue to as the parts are needed! Don't mean to crap up your thread, but there will always be some final cleaning needed before installation of freshly ported car parts my man. That sucks you had to wait. So did I, and still for another part. IMO you have to wait for the quality man. Get in line.
1st thing you need to understand is that all vendors have issues with getting parts in and out on time at some points in time. Lots of time people say they have things in stock when they are not ready to ship.
2nd learn to not plan anything till you have parts in hand.
The purpose wasnt to neccesarilly rip on fully built, more just to let people know this experience and to watch out for this on their own housing because it was not obvious to see until I started spraying the cleaner up inside and the CLUMPS OF SHAVINGS started breaking loose.
The port work looked nice, I will say that. But the overspray and the shavings is not how a vendor should send a FINISHED PRODUCT out the door. How well does it work? I dont know, I will never know. I have now spent more money on a better product that shipped the day after I paid for it and its already on the car. THATS HOW IT SHOULD BE!!!
With my whole experience and what I got for the money that I spent, I will not be doing business with them ever and If anyone wants the fully built ported housing that I bought ou can find it in my trash can where it ended up.
I think the responses are BS for this thread....(NOT KNOCKING FBM)
WTF does everyone mean "you have to wait for quality parts" and "You shouldn't plan work without parts"????? Are you serious??????????
You guys are saying F the customer....tell them lies and provide shitty service, don't ship shit make em wait, we got the money f 'em. That is no way to run a reputable business. He even asked for a refund and was told no??? WTF....quality parts...shitty way to take care of your customers.
No wonder shitty service keeps happening....people don't rip 'em enough when it happens.
Its about integrity guys. Take care of the customer...who supports you!
I have never purchased parts from FBM and I never will. I'm not saying they do or don't make quality parts, but I'm seeing way to many negative posts regarding this company!!!
It's really crappy that we have so many bad vendors!!! The Honda guys don't have this many problems buying parts!!! If you get something from Skunk2 it's gonna be quality work and you don't hafta wait 9000 years to get it!!!
Yea, I literally just ordered the ported and coated e1 and manifold. I got my e1 and it looks great, but Im still waiting for my manifold. Its definetally been taking a looong time.
What cleaner did you spray in there? I would like to check my turbo before installing it for metal chunks too.

This is why they are never going to get my $ cause i can do what they do in my on shop!!!! And cleaning parts that you payed to have ported is like putting gas in a new car before you leave the stealership...STOP taking up for the vendors just cause you cant do these things on your own thats why we have so many claims on here now everyone that has been lied to or ripped off by FBM needs to crap them in this thread thats why they have this section

I was using brake cleaner(2 cans) and eventually air compressor and Scotchbrite for the overspray and some heavy duty pipe cleaners to get to the hard to reach places.
BE CAREFUL WITH THE CLEANER!!!! It will remove the coating just like paint!!!
your not fully screwed out of your time and cash unless you go to fullybuilt. these guys had a ton of problems even getting out products at all and answering calls/pms not even a year ago. you should be glad you even have something to show for you money. another vendor doing less quality work to sell for less cash. which it what drives most part buyers, promises of a better product for less.

Should have sent the housing to me, I woulda done it for ya'.
Sucks that you had to go threw that delima man, talk about shotty service. Leaving chip/shavings is very amature like, and overspray pffffffffft sucks sucks sucks.
I dunno, josh at FBM is a good guy with good intentions. So far my transaction he has been in fairly decent, but NOT great communications. Hes pretty good at returning text messages on his cell. Theres also been alot of pm's and calls that he hasent returned as well. None the less I think he just bites of more work than he can chew. Ive been waiting for my manifold for over a month and a half......Im trippin but I know Ill get. It just kinda blows cause he told me "very quick turn around" and that was on march 13'th.......
