Default Avoid Slowboy Racing & Kinetic motorsports AT ALL COSTS

I really couldn't be any more pissed the fuck off right now ..... let's sum this up...

February 18th 2008- I placed an order with Slowboy racing for a 60 trim turbo from Kinetic motorsports ... about a week later I receive the turbo and let it sit in my bedroom awaiting warmer, drier weather (February isn't exactly the best time to work on a car outside in New England weather)

March, 18th, 2008- I installed the turbo on my car finally ... finally the weather allowed me to work on the car without freezing to death

March 20th, 2008- After only driving the car one time since the install, I lose my license for 60 days .... the car is then driven by one of my friends one more time to CTI for a tubular exhaust manifold & one more time back to my house (turbo driven a total of 3 times, about 50 miles total)

May 27th, 2008- I finally get the car up & running, just in time for the Memorial Day meet in NY ... during the trip to the NY, I send a rod through my block and have to have the car towed home (turbo driven a total of 4 times, about 450 miles)

June 20th, 2008- I get all of the parts for my motor build together, get the motor together & finally put it in the car ... the following day I take the car to the track which is about 15 miles from my house (turbo driven a total of 5 times, about 480 miles)

June 28th, 2008- Take the car to the track again & the car started smoking badly out of the exhaust after only 2 runs ... packed the car up & went home (turbo driven a total of 6 times, about 510 miles)

upon removing the turbo from the car & diagnosing the problem, it was my conclusion that the turbo was blown ... I went through the motions of re-routing the oil return line, re-torquing the headstuds & everything possible to prevent shipping the turbo back to Kinetic, but nothing seemed to work

July 7th, 2008- I called slowboy to purchase another 60T turbo so that I could keep the car running & Jeff B. said he'd call me back immediately to let me know the availability ... no call back

July 8th, 2008- called Jeff 5 times ... left 2 voicemails for him to call me back & left 3 messages with Joe to call me back ... yet, STILL NO CALL

finally, I got around to sending the turbo back to Kinetic on July 21st, 2008 and it took 1 week to get to them (they received it on July 28th) ... note: the car is down, obviously, without the turbo on the car ... slowboy stated that the turbo would only take a day or 2 to rebuild & it would be immediately shipped back to me

on the 29th, I called slowboy to confirm that the turbo would be done soon so that I could get the car back up & running & Jeff B. said he'd get back to me when he had some info ... no call back even though I was told he would call me back

on the 30th, I called slowboy again and the same thing happened again ... promised a phone call back but never got one

on the 31st, called them again & same thing again

on the 1st, called them again & same thing again

on the 4th, called them again & this time Jeff B. said he had no info, sounded irritated that I kept calling him but I reminded him that I needed the turbo back so I could have the car up & running

on the 5th, called them again ... still irritated, still no info, still no call back ... still NOTHING

on the 6th, I decide to check my old email that I haven't used in over a year just for shits & giggles to see if they somehow emailed me the info to the wrong email address ... upon doing so, I found an email that was sent by Candy Huml from Slowboy that Jeff B. was unaware of ... this email was sent on monday the 4th, to the wrong email address (still have no clue how they got this address)

this email stated that "the turbo was blown due to oil contamination & will not be covered under warranty" ... mind you that the turbo had been driven a total of 6 times & about 510 miles on it) ... I called Jeff B. at slowboy to find what exactly the oil was contaminated with and why the turbo wasn't covered & also why the email was sent to the wrong email address & why Candy Huml sent the email when he was the salesman dealing with this (left both of us hanging) ... Jeff promises me a call back & as you can probably guess, I never received a call back

I then called Jeff over & over until I finally got through to him so that I could figure out what was wrong with the turbo, etc. ... he still didn't know what it meant & was "waiting for an email" and would get back to me ... still no call back, so I called him back & said well rather than sitting here with our thumbs up our asses, lets order me a new turbo so that I can get the car running ... I ended up paying FULL PRICE for a new CHRA (no discount whatsoever)

at this point, Jeff stated that the turbo would be ready ON THAT DAY (Wednesday the 6th) but it was too late in the day to ship it, so it would be shipped "tomorrow" (Thursday the 7th) ... well I told Jeff to get me a tracking number ASAP and to call me & give it to me since I'm at work all day (M-F) and don't have internet access at work

no tracking number or phone call from Jeff all day Thursday or Friday, so Friday I decide to call Jeff and he says they have no info yet ... I wait til Monday & call back and he says he'll call me right back ... wait about 5 hours & still no call back, so I call him back & he says "I sent them an email & they probably won't email me back until tomorrow morning' (why would you say you'd call me back then? ) .... while talking to him, I remind him to call me & give me the TN since I don't have internet access at work (AGAIN) and he says, "ok will do"

this morning before work I decide to check my email & to my surprise, there's an email from Jeff with a tracking number ... an EMAIL, just like I told him NOT TO SEND since I don't have internet access at work ... well, at this point I'm grateful to finally have some info on my turbo and hop onto UPS.com to check the tracking .... to my total fucking surprise...

Scheduled Delivery: 08/18/2008
Shipped/Billed On: 08/11/2008

yes, the turbo was shipped on Monday 8-11-08 after I was promised it would go out on Thursday 8-7-08

as soon as I noticed that the turbo wasn't even shipped til Monday, I called Jeff and simply asked if the shipment could be expedited to possibly 2-day or 3-day shipping even though it's in transit ... I was hoping that he could call & have them change it and he stated he would look into it & call me back ... my whole point was to get the car running this weekend, so I need the turbo on Saturday or before

after waiting 4 hours, I'm at this point ... still no phone call, still no info as to whether or not it's being expedited ... JUST LEFT HANGING LIKE USUAL

I still don't understand how a turbo that was only used 6 times & only had about 510 miles on it isn't covered under warranty

I still don't understand why a company wouldn't want to sell me a turbo ... I wanted to purchase a turbo from Slowboy & they avoided calling me back & avoided my messages when trying to purchase it

I've never been lied to like I have by slowboy ... I've never been played by a company feeding me lies they did

I've done a lot of business with different members on here & different businesses on here and this is by far THE WORST TRANSACTION I'VE EVER HAD ... I will never buy one more thing from Kinetic or Slowboy and I'll make sure that none of the locals buy from them

my first mistake was buying a Kinetic turbo from Kinetic ... I should've just called AGP since they would've taken care of me & their turbo's actually last more than 500 miles

my second mistake was ordering a new turbo from Slowboy ... at that point I just wanted to get the car running, but again, I should've just called AGP

lastly, I'm going to sell this turbo in the near future & order an AGP turbo ... I've had 2 different AGP turbo's on my car (50T and 3147) and never once had a problem with either of them ... I also didn't have ANY problems with ANY orders I've placed with AGP ... I'd also have peace of mind, knowing that if there was a problem with the turbo, AGP would actually stand behind it, unlike Kinetic .... not only that, but I don't want Kinetic's name ANYWHERE on my Mods List

I'd also like to add that I'm not an impatient person ... I understand that shit happens

just tell me the truth rather than feeding me lies & saying you'll call back when you really won't ... I'd much rather have someone be up front than me finding out the hard way

also, if Kinetic isn't going to warranty their turbo's & are going to shaft anyone who decides to purchase one of their shitty turbos, then they should simply not include a warranty ... again, I'd rather know up front that you aren't going to cover it, rather than going through hell to find out

Nate - I might have missed it but what happened between the oil contamination and voiding of warranty and the new turbo? Did you drop the cash on another turbo?

As far as the oil contamination goes, the only way they should credibly say this is by doing a used oil analysis.

Shoddy none the less...

I tried to include all of the info I had in the post without making it too long ... at this point I'm fucking pissed & my head isn't where it should be ... I'm nothing less than beside myself

I spent another $450 on a new CHRA to replace my blown one ... they also never stated that there was analysis done to the oil .. they briefly & simply stated that, "it's not covered due to oil contamination" and that's it - nothing else at all in the mail other than "contact Jeff from here" ... Jeff should have been told the situation rather than this random chick sending a random email to the wrong address

Wow dude, that friggin sucks. They emailed you because they didn't want to get yelled at over the phone. Your story sold me. I won't buy anything from them.

If you can find a pro bono attorney or maybe even small claims court...I would take their asses to court in a heart beat. There is no fucking way they can claim oil contamination without a used oil analysis.

I'm working with my bank on getting ALL of my money back ... my bank is pretty cooperative with reversing charges

long story short, my bank refunded me $550 due to some "bad" transactions a few months ago over the intrawebs ... no questions asked

I'm 99.9% positive they're going to help me out with this ... but their assistance won't help the fact that my car has been down for 3 weeks while Slowboy & Kinetic had their thumbs up their asses just dicking me around
