I'm having a motor built at Performance Autowerks. To save some costs I used the forums to purchase parts that other members had no use for. I found a member selling ARP head studs new in the box for $80. Its not much cheaper, but in this build every penny counts. So I bought them and had them shipped off to PWerks. Pwerks is assembling the motor and come to find out that the ARP studs I provided were incorrect. Even though the box was labeled Neon SRT4 and the studs were new.... This was a problem that ARP had in an earlier batch of studs and has since corrected the issue.
So that leaves me to purchase a new set of studs.... or so I thought. I figured I'd drop ARP a line to see what the deal was. Alan Nichols, the Sales and Technical manager at ARP Fasteners answers my email. From the get go he took charge of the situation and agreed to speak directly with PWerks for me since I'm in Iraq. He addressed the problem promptly, emailed back almost instantaneously and answered all my questions professionally.
In the end, PWerks installed a new set of studs for me and ARP is shipping them a replacement set FREE OF CHARGE. How is that for customer service???
Its not often we get to give a thumbs up to a parts supplier but I thought I'd take the time to do this since this was a case where I was sure I was out the money and I'd have to buy new stuff. Thanks to ARP for making me happy and thus winning a new customer.
