looks awesome nate. I like the way your car has been coming along these past few years
I think it's about where I want it ... FINALLY
last few things before I'm done is pnp'ed head, cams, cam gears, head gasket, headstuds, oil pump/gears, etc. ... pretty much top-end ... then we'll hope the bottom end stays in tact
looks like your end tanks are black
so im guessing you polished the bars under the fins, isn't that hard?
i tried to do that but im scared im going to bend the fins = /
edit: or is it shadowed? i cant tell?

correct, end tanks are black but the core is polished ... in all honesty, it was a COMPLETE pain in the ass ... I could have installed my new clutch in the amount of time it took me to polish the core
I had to first strip off the black paint I had on the IC, which involved taping off the end tanks to protect the black paint, then spraying the core with gasket remover ... after letting the gasket remover sit & eat off all of the paint, I then took some coarse grit steel wool & scraped off the excess paint ... then sprayed off the remaining grime, paint & shit off with a hose ... then used some finer steel wool to get everything off ... then I took some fine sand paper (500 grit if I remember right) and sanded down all of the bars ... then as my last step (about 3 or 4 hours later) I used mothers polish to polish the bars
