High mileage motor oil has been used, in manual trans for a long time. Even standard motor oil has been used in manual transmissions.
We have a manual transmission and diff in the same housing.
ATF SHOULD NOT BE USED PERIOD.
I use Redline Manual transmission fluid, and change it 10-18kmiles depending on track days and hard use.
Anything but ATF would be better to use.
Good adjustment of clutch and crossover cables... helps keep the trans in one piece.
A high temp and lubrication of MTF should be used.
Maybe a trans cooler added would keep this high $$ trans from exploding. I have lost 2gear I'm my car before, but I could still drive it. Ozzie has lost 3rd gear but he could still drive it both using Redline MTF.
This is total loss no repair sucks, I also don't like you can get a fully built Tremec T56 trans for $2500. And we pay $1500 for a input shaft....for a fully built fwd trans its over 3k?

I dont mind him at all. Sometimes he raises very good points and hes a great wealth of knowledge. That being said he can be a dick
