People run so many different fluids in these trans its not even funny. Also everyone has a different opinion on what is correct and what isnt.
I personally run ATF in the winter and Mobil HM 10w40 in the summer per Ed Peters.

Motor oil is no bueno? Ive ran it in all my cars, never had a issue
HTC PH39100 using AutoGuide.C![]() 5-30 or 10-40 HIGH MILLAGE is great for the trans. I used RP my first two years of the car, and than my trans fell apart, most likley from lack of fluid, but after i heard and talked to ed peters and got my brand new trans in, i now run hm 5-30 M1, and has done wonders, shifts very smooth, and it has the highest sheer rating of all oils. ATF is basicaly water and detergents. but u can run what u want. Talks about atf and motor oil at 3:00

Since Ed Peters is a Failure Analysis Engineer, maybe he can chime in as to why my friend (resident local tranny repair guy for all the guys over here) couldn't go more than 10 miles before he had bad shifting shifting, and when draining his transmission, a bunch of metal flakes/specs came pouring out as well.
IDK what experience EP has in srt-4s and high performance ones in particular, but the advice I give is based off actual experience at 600+hp for over 4yrs, and knowing what works for my car, or not. Mopar ATF, no LSD additive. 7500-8k rev shifts. 600+. Change the fluid every 5k miles. You won't have problems, and you won't have to run motor oil for a transmission... smh. RP also works.

Yea ep don't know jack shit when it comes to the neon tranny. What would he know he only help design the damn thing.
Ed rebuilt my trams put it all together and has never shifted smoother ever. I run hm 10-40 and it shifts amazing wot shifts at 7500 no problem. Snapped input shaft but gears are perfect shape. ![]()

Maybe your friend built it wrong! I believe you could drive further than 10 miles with NO LUBRICANT if it was built properly! ![]() As far as experience, he built many of the transmissions for both the FACTORY SRT4 and Viper World Challenge and SRT4 SCCA T2 teams. BTW - RP is purple CRAP!

Mopar ATF, Redline, or an Amsoil tranny fluid variant is what I would use. You build a tranny wrong by just swapping fluid? The guy knows what he is doing. OK...drive and go WOT a bunch of times in 10 miles NO lubrication, and lmk how your tranny looks... that was a dumb comment to make... smh.

Yea, I'm sure that powerband looks magnificent. ![]() Hey, if motor oil works for you, keep doing what you're doing. Considering Unseen is a local guy that I'm cool with, I'm giving my experience and advice that worked for my car that far outweighs anything you'd have to say. Something happened for his tranny to grenade at his hp levels (at 460-500, it should hold up 100%). Was it the oil? No one knows. Could've played a part. Considering what I've seen motor oil do first hand to another car, I'd just recommend running mopar ATF no additives, and flushing at a shorter interval.

watch eds tech talk may do you some good.
Oh wait I forgot PK knows more than the man who design and built the trannys in our car. Your the biggest egotistical cocky ass little fuck ie ever come across, maybe that was your goal. Run your ATF and watch U replacing stop rings and syncros in 30k ![]()
