Finally got my 1.8 50mm nikkor. I had thought about going for the 1.4 but reviews said not to. Manual focus on it isn't bad.. but you definitely won't be capturing fast action with it.. lol.
Hahahahaha I try to avoid this thread when I'm drunk posting.

Either I have seen you post that on another forum or someone else has posted it on another forum but I have seen that place before. Its an art museum correct?
Joe those pictures are excellent especially considering you have just gotten your first SLR. What did you learn with?

Thanks a lot! You could say I learned on a crappy p&s Sony N1. It had a few manual options but it was a just a basic point and shoot pocket camera. Thats all I ever touched.
Its been 1 weeks since I got my cam and im loving it!
From today:
I had trouble shooting today. It was bright out and my first time shooting action, in bright sunlight, in manual. I somewhat gave up on manual since the conditions changed every picture so about 3/4 of the shots where taken with the running man icon...going out again sunday to practice some more
I suggest using manual about 5% of the time, usually you just need to control shutter speed or aperture and not both. Stick with Av and Tv and you should be good to go.
Joe those are great as well man, good job. You were definitely due for a nicer camera. I think shooting in aperature or shutter priority is just fine as long as you know how to use manual. I only use manual maybe 10% of the time.

I have posted it on many photography forums that I am on.
It is the Rock-N-Roll hall of fame in downtown Cleveland. That's where I used to live.
