Awesome. be forewarned, the D300 is not a point and shoot, great shots out of the box cam until you learn and practice what works. you'll get lucky but it'll school ya for a while. but i think you know and want that. you'll get great results fully customizing it to your style.

setting up the 'my menu' for instant finds of the most used menu items is a must imo and banking and tweaking your common setups is useful

default sharp, contract etc settings will not yield your desired results as well. it will take some playing with.

getting to know when to use the diff focus pts for action is somewhat challenging.

def not an ave srt forum user (set aperature and post results) cam

That kit is just a damn good choice. I did alot of research and there is no real reason to get the B800's over the B400's. So The DigiBee setup it is. -=D

Im looking to get a nikon but am new to SLR cameras. Looking for some opinions on what cam i should start out with and also need help picking out the lense. Im new to this so any info you guys could give me would be much appreciated. The ones ive been looking at are the d40 and d50 but dont know much about them.
