Here is Curt Browns car (Pittsburgh guy) tuned by Nate@TPG.Tuning who is the dyno instructor at Wyotech in Pittsburgh, PA. Nate is a real good guy and I have heard great things about the school. Video was at Wyotech where Nate does alot of tuning at Night time after class hours.

I went to a local community college and got an Associates Degree in Applied Science for Automotive Servicing. Working on cars can be great, but I recommend to pretty much everyone to not do it for a living. You will get burned out. I do the shop on the side and work at Chevrolet Dealership during the day. So I spend a good 80 or more hours a week around cars. It's certainly got it's pros and cons. I'm only 23 and you better believe I get worn out.

Down here we have the whole Nascar Technical Institute. MOST, not all, the kids that come from it are complete clueless dumbasses who don't know a piston ring from a onion ring. They promise you all these jobs, but I can tell you I've seen several who get out of school and are left high and dry.

I know Wyo Tech is more well known, but I would def. suggest doing very in-depth research before you spend the money on it.

I say go to school for engineering or something like that if you can. Working on cars to just repair them and making them go faster are two COMPLETELY different feelings.

Well I met with one of there advisors today and signed up to start in Jan automotive and performance powertrain. I fully understand that I'm not going to become a millionaire doing it, but it's what I enjoy doing and I'm not doing anything else with my life right now, so I figured what the hell. Plus I'm getting a nice chunk of financial aid to help me out. I just wanted to post up and get yours guys opinions of the school and see if anyone has gone down. I just didn't want to go down there and it be a total waste.

Really? I'll have to do that, would like as much info before I make a final decision, I have a week to make any changes or I don't get my $100 back. That's sweet that there's a track close by, I will definately be taking the old neon down with me a bit then. How close are you to it?

Yea, I've been looking into it since high school lol and I finally met with an advisor today. I'm working construction now, so I'm right there with you on being worn out lol and I'm 20. I understand that when starting your not always going to start out at the top. But my big plan is a good couple years down the road I will have my own shop or running my families dealership. But IDK I might go into this and it not workout. So I can always go into something else, I'm just tired of working this deadend job and not going anywhere. Cars are my passion lol.

I feel ya bro. I really can't imagine myself doing anything else, no matter how tired I get, and I know that once I'm full-time in the performance industry that I'll be a lot happier. I just don't have enough clientele right now to go full-time and still pay my bills. Once my Peon is payed for it'll be a much easier decision and by then I would imagine I'll have a steady and growing customer base. Just takes time and LOTS of hard work and late nights, and the occasional Monster or Red Bull. haha.

Good luck on your decision though, I hope whatever route you take works out for the best.

Everyone that I have run into from Wyotech has been a complete dumb ass... Maybe it's my area, but I wouldn't let any of the tools I've seen come in where I work get near my car. I work for a speed shop, I have been here for almost 8 years now. You would think that these guys coming from Wyotech would know what the hell they are looking at, but they don't. It's either the school is horrible or the class of people I have seen going there isn't really up to par.
