It was kinda cheesy, but I've been a terminator fan all my life so it satisfied me. Secretly I wonder why eddie furlong and claire Danes didn't resume their roles. Might have liked it better, Christian bale is a good actor, Im just getting tired of seeing him. My take on the movie was affected alot by the crowd reaction as well.. I had alot of commentators in the crowd ruining the experiance. Good cgi tho, better then the crap used in wolverine
I'll give it my own rating of 5.5 out of 10, good action, poor writing
Shit I was looking foward to it, but I'll take your word for it and wait for the DVD. T1 was my favorite movie when I was younger. I even named my son Rece, not because I was a nut for the movie but it was the first time I ever heard that name and I liked it.
God awful fucking TERRIBLE movie. Star Trek blew this movie out of the water, and i've been in love with the Terminator series since I was little. Don't waste your money.
Way to ruin one of the best movie series ever.
Acting was top notch, story and plot was....NONEXISTANT? What a waste of $20
Its still worthy of a movie ticket.. if you can get past the bad writing and cheesy quotes.. if you are a terminator fan, go see it in theater.. if your only so-so about the series.. go see star trek, thats the number one movie this year
i thought christian bale's performance was awful. the movie was alright..wasnt horrible, there was some cheesy shit in it....the plot was a little scatter brained. wait for the dvd

Yeah...it was a mixed bag for me. I liked the darker setting, but I hated how much they piggy backed off the previous movies. I wanted a STAND ALONE trilogy. By that, I mean, John Connor's character in the movie had ZERO development. They threw him in and it felt like they were saying "Come on, it's John Connor...you know, prophet dude, leader of the resistance, yada yada. You know him from the other movies and TV show. We're not going to waste any time delving into his head and seeing what he's about, or what made him John Connor."
For that, I was annoyed. I really liked Marcus' character. They did a good job with him, definitely.
*** SPOILER ALERT ***
The only thing I thought was bunk about Marcus was the fact that his design relied on a human heart to power him. I get that he had a human heart to make him sound/be more human like to infiltrate the resistance...but to be powered by it? Seriously? And the fact that when it was removed at the end, it killed him. Completely retarded.
Aside from that, I thought the plot was rather weak in general. It felt way too thrown together. I wish they had started this movie off right after Judgment day to answer so many questions we have.
For instance, if Skynet existed in some USAF base (as outlined by T3) in San Francisco, after Judgment Day...how did they spread to the rest of the continent and world? How did the timeline go? They would have had to set up bases all over the place, build factories, etc.
And for humans and the resistance, how did people organize? How did they get ahold of military armaments? What was life amidst the chaos? It would have been insane to see the reaction of most everyone in the world that had NO idea what the eff was going on....and then learn that it was this sentient AI that destroyed everything and is using these machines to kill humans.
There is a LOT of stuff they could have gone into setting up the rest of the story. If I had this story to work with and create a movie out of, I'll tell you now mine would have been a billion times better. Either way, given some freaky moments and good action sequences, it was still worth seeing in the theater.
