Maybe she was afraid and ashamed. Some women wait a number of years before reporting a rape. Mind you, it doesn't help their case and will be used against them, but this has happened before. Also, it appears that the act occurred in July 08 so it has only been a year. What I find most interesting about this story is that no criminal charges have been brought so far. This gets me to start thinking maybe her story is bogus and is an attempt to extort some cash. After all, if I were a victim of a serious crime, my first focus would be on getting a criminal charge brought against them rather than a civil one.

I totally agree with you. There could be many reasons why she did not report the rape when it happened. The interesting part of the story is, as you have mentioned, that no criminal charges have been brought, and that she is seeking a civil suit instead of pushing for a criminal conviction.

To your point, why wouldn't she have filed a civil suit right after it happened if she was only after money? I know you could argue that it took her a while to realize that she could make money out of a bogus claim, but I am more inclined to believe that she was suffering from psychological complications of the assault.

Bottom line, we don't have enough information to come to any accurate conclusions.

I bet she consented to sex, expected more than just a fuck and chuck, got chucked, begged him for a year to be more than just a fuck, he said no and now she is claiming rape.
