I love the way the new R6 handles, down low it's god awful, but up high it flys

I don't understand why people like the Yamaha's so much, they've consistently been rated as under performers compared to the same sized CBR's and the GSXR's. It seems to me people only buy the R6/1's for the looks.

Whatever the case, I would recommend taking a look at a new GSXR 600. They're very highly rated in every category, especially comfort. I think the GSXR 600 is one of the most comfortable sportbikes I've ever sat on, and I really dislike the riding position of super bikes.

Whatever people tell you though, I would still recommend you try to take a ride on one of each to see which one you feel most comfortable riding (and I don't just mean aesthetics when I say comfort):

Maybe this article will help:

Good luck getting a dealership to let you test ride a new bike

Whatever you do, make sure you get Comprehensive coverage if you decide to purchase insurance. I had a customer at GEICO, who did not have Comp, and so when his motorcycle was stolen from outside his hotel, we couldn't help him.

When you purchase your new bike and want a FREE GEICO policy quote, PM me and I'll give you the number to call.

They have demo days at most dealerships, usually monthly. Where have you been?

Luck you, every dealership here will NOT let you ride a bike no matter what. And believe me i've asked.

I think the Ducati might...but they'd take one look at my SRT-4 and know I have no money

I just wanted to respond to this and say it would be wiser for him not to buy a brand new 250. You can buy an older one for pretty damn cheap with low mileage and you're only going to spend 1/2 as much on insurance. Most importantly, after he's ridden the 250 for 3-6 months, he's going to get bored of it REALLY fast, and when he finally wants to sell it he's not going to get much for it.

New riders should never buy a brand new bike, let alone a small displacement bike.
