Until the Islanders address their depth/goaltending issues they are a LONG way's away from being a competitor.

The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenseman Chris Pronger and forward Ryan Dingle from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Luca Sbisa, Joffrey Lupul, two first round picks and a conditional third round pick in 2010 or 2011.
i'm VERY happy with the pens pick... he is going to be a great defensive defensemen
as for the islanders.. they have a goaltender in DiPietro who is a great goalie if he can stay healthy. plus he is signed for about 9 more years... tavares will be the future of the team and was a decent pick...

Ya dipietro is a good goalie if he can stay healthy.. As for the flyers.. how the HELL are they going to fit him under their payroll??? their payroll is like 70mil
briere will most likely go. he's got what, a 8 year contract giving him 6mil a year? plus he's not playing like he should. he'll probably go back to buffalo like he should. Plus, Gagne is going to be free next year and he's 5.8 almost 6mil a year player too. so they could trade him and free up some cap. but good for philly for trading lupal, he doesnt deserve 4.5 mil a year, he's a useless plug

well they are going to have to get rid alot more then what you just said, they are around almost 20mil above the cap.

useless my ass.. if he was with the right players and could play how he is meant to play he is a 40 goal scorer... i predict 35 goals and 79 points this year from him
