I'm watching a special about them on the National Geographic channel.
They mention a connection with the Knights of Templar. I have a friend who says he knows a lot about them, but doesn't say too much.
Hard to know what is myth about the freemasons and what is actual fact.
He doesn't say much because Masons aren't supposed to let people know what happens. It's a secretive society, yes much like Knights of Templar.
They have a secret handshake and secret phrases.
You can't find TOO much about them simply for that reason. The only way we know much about them is from those who were former Masons but left.
From everything I can gather and the information I have researched they are in essence a form of religion.
They won't admit they it's a form of religion [because many of them attend a church somewhere] but the messages they give and the ideas they have are very much of a religious nature and in many ways Masons hold to Freemasonry more than they do their church.
I read that their members come from different religions, as one of the main criteria is to believe in God. The article said that you can be a Muslim, Jew, Catholic, etc. and still be a freemason.

This is true but in order to become a 33rd degree mason you must be a Christian. I for one do not believe that they are Satanist nor are they a religious sect, but I believe that they are a very secretive society, and that level of secrecy is what fuels rumors about the society.

From the study I have done so far; I whole heartedly believe you cannot be both a Mason and a Christian.
its a lot easier to find out what their organization is about by looking at what the most influential 33rd degree freemasons have done in society, than by trying to ask a secret organization its secrets...
