Are needs:
~A nice size monitor, possibly one we can hook cable into to watch TV as well. Is this possible?
~Fast. I dont want to be waiting for pages to load. My buddy has a mac and its lightning fast(i.e. music playing, vid playing, and 4 internet pages open with nothing slowing dwn)
~Will be used to edit videos as well, so a nice sound card / set up would be nice.
I need help, i dont really know anything about compters, where can i get one built to meet the above....As well as ball park price?

The purpose of ignition advance is to account for the lag time following spark ignition for combustion pressure to peak at 15 degrees AFTER TOP DEAD CENTER. A little fyi !

if you're looking for a PC for a decent price that will do everything you want it to do relatively cheap go to Dell Laptops, Desktop Computers, Monitors, Printers & PC Accessories and build one.you can put any and everything you want it it and they'll finance you.
probably your best bet, unless you wanted to have one custom built but that will be expensive and by the sounds of it overkill for your needs.hope this helped.

1000, maybe? Possible a little more if the additional price will make it that much better.
I saw a thread a little while ago about gaming computer needs and these guys were pretty much custom building a computer to handle war for like 1500 bucks(custom cooling systems and a bunch of other ish)....So i figured my needs could be met for that price tag....
I used to suggest dell but their quality has really gone down the last couple years. I've heard good things about HP lately if you dont want to build one yourself.
Hmm.. one suggestion I have for you is to watch for technical colleges to have auctions. If they have a graphics program, they likely have fairly powerful computers that they "dispose of" about every two years. I bought two dual G5 power pc's or whatever they are called this way for $350 each with everything including monitor. I sold one for $850 and kept the other for myself. No worries about viruses or spyware and they run fast and do everything you want them to.
Make sure the monitor that you get is 1920x1600 resolution.
Running a samsung tv as a monitor works awesome. You don't need 1920x1600, a 1920x1080 is fine. I use a 32" samsung 1080p monitor and it looks awesome. The only time you would ever notice the slight difference in resolution is if you had a 1920x1600 next to it. Btw, when setting resolution the 1080p can run at 1920x1280, for most games.

To me there is a little more than a slight difference in resolution.. It also changes the aspect ratio of your screen.. to one that isn't really even. And also the OP wanted to do Video editing, and I also know he just got a D40 and is starting to take pictures... Which means more he can fit on the screen the better.
