You will lose weight if you stick by that and exercise.
I also cut a lot of food out of my diet:
No white bread/pasta/rice
Limited amount of potatoes
Fruit
Vegetables
Anything wheat/whole grain or with a good amount of fiber
Since the first week in February, I've lost 15 pounds. I bought a book called Volumetrics. It works for me. My calorie intake is around 1,600 a day...and I eat A LOT of food...way more than when I was on my junk food diet. Imagine that...eating a lot of food and losing weight.
Eating healthy and working out, I gained 30 pounds.
Eating fast food multiple times a day and not working out, spending most of my days in my bed, I lost weight.
Probably doesn't help most people so I will say that the Atkins diet is really good. If you cut out most of the carbs you take in and work out, you'll lose weight. The good thing about that diet is you can still eat really good. Steak, chicken, vegetables and non-white breads. A few mile walk daily or every other day will help a lot. If you can run, even better.
no shit, i lost 50lbs in about a month and here was how.
Stop drinkin soda or anything carbonated. substitute it for Juice/powerade/gatorade/water. you will shed 10 to 15 lbs easy from that.
start jogging, not walking but keeping a steady pace and jog for about a quarter mile, walk for a sec to catch your breath and do that for atleast 2 miles.
and get a steady weight training schedule going. i work out 5 days a week. set one like mon work on chest, tue work on front arms and back arms, wed work on sholders, thurs work on legs and back, friday do some heavier running.
be sure to give your muscles proper rest etc. thats why i say for weight training alternate, don't do the same thing every day. you won't get anywhere.
and thats how i shed about 50 lbs in a month.
oh, and take a muscle recovery shake after workouts too. does a body good and you won't be sore the next day.
Everyone's body and metabolism is different. I hear that low carb diets have helped many people lose weight, but I also hear that when you do that your body can feel lethargic.
Carbs are the most efficient sources of energy your body uses, not fat, which is for emergency use.

That was never the case when I did low-carb diets.
I always felt better and more energized. Of course, part of the lethargy could be those people who eat a lot of meat and cheese, but never eat greens or drink enough water.
If you drink enough water low-carb diets 'should' make you feel lighter and more energetic.
That being said, I would never do a low-carb diet for longer than 2 weeks...it's just not healthy to cut out so many vegetable and fruits and ingest that much fat.
Shit I wish I could eat that much and keep it off.
Pretty much I just tweaked things here and there and it's worked well. Like adding cardio to the workout or eating better, controlling portions, not eating late, eating breakfast (i never used to) and things like that.
Cardio is a must IMO for losing weight or at least staying active doing like basketball or tennis or swimming or biking, but it can't be done alone. You have to eat well too. Some schools of thought say once a week you can splurge but otherwise it's good to keep control of your portions.
If you want, eat 5 times a day instead of 3, but cut down on your portions and your body will stay nourished and you won't get hungry as often. Drink water and make sure to get the veggies and fruits (don't overkill on the fruits, some have a ton of sugar) and protein is always good.
For me it was all self control because I wanted to lose weight badly. I know people who tell me I don't have time or get lazy and cheat or skip workouts or whatever and then that bad habit ends up even worse for them. So what, get up 30 min earlier and go for a run or instead of going on the forum for an hour, go on for a half hour and go for a run for the other 30min or whatever. I was able to manage my time around it and I have a packed schedule. Just something to think about.
Try some things out and see what works for you, because what worked for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone. but don't get discouraged. I've seen people work out for like 2 weeks and actually gain weight before they lose it, sometimes that can happen but don't give up.

Portion control is so important, absolutely. I generally eat very healthy and eat a decent amount of vegetables, but it's the portion control that gets me often.
I also can eat almost any food and have no food allergies, so that doesn't help me either LOL.
I think we just have to be conscious about everything we eat if we want to meet and maintain our individual weight goals.
