I haven't posted on srtforums in ages and I'm glad to see they created a health and fitness section. Anyways, I've been reading through some of the posts hear and I'd thought I'd share a site thats really helped me out in my fitness goals. I was complete noob at this time a year ago that used machines at the gym and thought certain excercises "could tone this or that part of your body".

After reading alot of the information on stronglifts.com and other good sites, I started working out the " right way" and have a much better understanding of strength gain, muscle gain, and fat loss. This site has a lot of no BS articles on how you can't spot reduce fat (i.e. during 100 crunches a day to ge those 6 pack abs), why compound excercies such as deadlifts and squats are much better than any isolation excercises, why free weight/body weight excercises are far superior to machines, and how doing hours of cardio is pointless. They have a beginner program that I've been on for around 6 months now that emphasizes starting out very light to learn correct technique for lifts like the squat, deadlift, and overhead press and slowly adding more weight to each lift. The site is completely free and has a lot good instructional how to videos for the lifts and mobility excercises. I've put on a solid 10 lbs of muscle in a little less than a year (I'm a female so thats quite a lot!). The site also have has options listed for what to do when uve reached an intermediate level as well.
