I deployed to Afghanistan in March and I made myself a promise that I would get in shape. So the first thing I did was clean up my diet. No soda, chips, fried food etc. Then I hit the gym everyday and stepped up my cardio. I lost my gut and my abs are starting to come out. Im back in the UK now and the hard part is keeping my diet in check. In the desert, you had no choice but to eat at the chow hall, but here...I have so many other choices. Popeye's sound good...but I must resist.
It pretty much has been hit on the head. If you can be self disciplined enough to balance a good diet and cardio efficiently, then you will remove some of that fat covering your abs and get that 6 pack.

diff leg raises and the wheel of death as i call it.. one where your stretching out rolling on a wheel with pegs to hold on to.. with the leg raises, when your legs are at the highest point (while laying down on a bench or anything) you then raise your pelvis up towards the ceiling.. so this way your hitting every muscle.. other one is you start with your legs bent while laying down, you straighten them out and then bring them back in then bending at the hips again with your knees going towards your head.. 2 sets of 15 reps for each exercise is all you need.. later on you can add ankle weights or use an in line bench (which is hard lol)... oh yea.. don't eat all the crap all the time..
