Anyone here take or have taken any type of martial arts?
I used to take S.Y. Kims Tae Kwon Do for about 2 1/2 years was a Red 1st Degree Belt before money became an issue with the parents (over 10 years ago)
I tried Jeet Kun Do, didn't like it all too much
I also took Philipino (sp?) Kali didn't like it too much either
Currently enrolled in Tiger Schulmans, started this past saturday in their core classes and grappling classes. Hopefully after a month I'll start with their kick boxing classes.
It's been just about 3 years since I've done anything as far as working out goes and this is much more fun then going to the gym.
I also have experience in Tae Kwon Do (2+ years), Parker Kenpo (<1 year) and Escrima (<1 year). I'm focusing on Wing Tsun now (getting back into MA) and will probably devote some time to Escrima again in a year or so.
I took alot of styles Kenpo, Shaolin kungfu, then Aikido. I would say the two best styles are
-Aikido-
-JiuJitsu-
These styles are awesome because out in the street you'll look like an idiot doing a roundhouse kick and missing. Its better to take them down with pressure points because you won't get sued and it makes you a better man by not leaving scares on him.

MMA is great for people who are "noobs" and are just getting into martial arts. I really look forward to getting into kick boxing. Right now, the Core classes are kicking my ass lol.
