I have the Escort 9500i and would recommend you check it out. I like it better than the Valentine.

You should check out the Audio/Visual Electronics Section and search around. There are a good amount of threads on Radar Detectors in there.

Val 1. Hands down.

I will not put anything else in my cars. I have tried the competitors but did not care for them. Most high end ones will get the job done but just have had the best luck with the val.

The Escort 9500i is not better than the Valentine One but it is $50-$100 (red or blue leds) more expensive than a new V1.

They are always making it better. But it will remain in the same design.
If they update their product you can upgrade yours as well. Kind of like a ps3, or any game, once they find errors and make it better you just have to download the update.

I love my Escort. Pics up signals from ~2 miles down the road, more than enough time to slow down. Haven't seen any laser out here so I'm not sure how it does there.

V1 or Escort, they're both very good, but at the time the Escort was about $150 to $200 cheaper and just as good (without direction arrows).

V1 hands down. It's paid for itself many times over.
