Question volt meter??????????

ok stupid question but can u hook a volt meter up to the cigarette lighter and have it read the right voltage.

Don't know how it works, but found this:

Digital Voltmeter, Plugs into 12 volt Cigarette Lighter Socket

Yes. It won't be exactly the voltage at the battery due to wire resistance, but it should be within tenth or two. If you want to monitor the voltage, you can get what CrEaTrE linked; else if you just want to quickly measure it you can unplug the lighter socket (from behind) and check it with a regular DC voltmeter.

Oops, I shouldn't read forums after driving for 35 hours.

Yeah, the resistance will make the voltage seem a little off, but you should be able to get a general idea from there.
