Well me and one of my buddies are installing a system in my car thats gonna knock. Here are a few pics as we are just getting started. More to come....
Dynamatted the entire car just got to do the trunk lid now!
My buddy looking at the firewall trying to find a spot to run that tick wire. We found it.
Head Unit install
Back seat?
One of 2 batteries. This thing is kickass.
RCA's and remote wire are ran.
Kicker 4ga Power wire
Fabbing up the rack.
Test fitting everything on our new spare tire platter. LOL
Me building my battery box.
Wiring up 1 of 2 fuse blocks
Pop trunk and every hinge
Finished with the amp, eq, and battery rack. It will all get covered up.

nice start. one question - why did you deaden under the rear seats but not continue it into the trunk? the floor there will vibrate a lot more than under the rear seat after your sub is installed.
see the pics of my last install here to see what i am talking about.
We did continue into the trunk. I would take pics but all the carpet is back in. Those red parts are the only bare parts. but the entire trunk is done.
then the ENTIRE car is not dynamatted..if you want to get best results with sound deadening all the bar spots need to be covered..and BTW dont use dynamat it sucks balls!! use Second Skin Audio. if you know who Steve Meade is then you know what second sking audio is the best shit in the world!! about twice as thick as dynamat! and ALOT cheaper!! place in town here sells a bulk pack of Second Skin for $115!!
Use some SSA Luxury Liner Pro on top of the sound deadening material and that will quiet down the interior of the vehicle even more. I didn't notice that much of a difference with just the sound deadening material installed but as soon as the LLP went in, I noticed a difference right away and that was with the LLP in the trunk only. Once I can get off my lazy ass, I'll finish laying the rest of the LLP on the floorboard.

again, you have no idea what you are talking about. in reality the only places that need to be covered are large flat areas of metal that are prone to vibration. i actually went overboard on my install because i ha a lot of extra to work with.
steve meade has absolutely nothing to do with ssa.
bulk packs of damplifier are only $98 directly from second skin.
to the OP, LLP is good stuff. so is overkill. i put a layer of that on top of the damp pro i used in the doors of my latest toy and there was a pretty noticeable difference. i also plan on using a layer of heatwave but that doesn't really apply to this situation. keep up the good work.

I appreciate the support. Did not get to much accomplished today but it was a lil time consuming. All we did was make a false floor and going to hopefully start on the box tomorrow. Here is some pics.
Fuse block up close
My new glue gun
Cutting the floor
Wrapping the two halves
Cut a hole by the seats in the floor to access the EQ.
Both pieces installed
Made supports for the false floor just have to carpet the I-Beams
We didnt work on it at all today havent even seen my car but will be back at it tomorrow after school. More pics tomorrow.

Thanks man^^^^^^i appreciate the positive feedback.
Cutting the MDF for the box.
Starting the assembly according to specs.
Sealing the box before we put the ends on it.
The holes i cut. They were pretty sketchy but I did not have the right blade and the subs are shaped awkwardly.
Test Fit!
Back Clearnace
With the subs in
Smoked it like a gun.
My new addition MTX 2000watt class-d Monoblock
Just sittin there not mounted yet. We did mount it but no pictures yet and got rid of the Kicker EQ and it bangs like no other. Lot mor work to be done with the box and the deck lid. More to come but thats all for now!
so how exactly did you do that? hook the wires up backwards?
looking nice so far. keep up the good work, it will pay off in the end to do things the right way the first time.
i think i like the build of a system more than the actual system. once the build is over you can enjoy it but you never get to do anything other than volume since everything is set. i think that is why i buy another car every other year. i just got another toy last month and i am already about 75% of the way through the install. new hu, comps, amp, all the wire, custom enclosure/parcel shelf, etc etc.
Looks like you may of had a 25 or 30 amp fuse in there instead of a 40 amp which it calls for. When you use too small of a fuse the fuse can heat up and not blow but just start melting. The amp didn't burn up, the fuse did. You are lucky your car didn't burn.
No they were both 40amp fuses. The coil pack overheated on the inside and that was that. I blew both of the subs already so we are going with 2 10" Alpine Type-R's in a ported box.
