Default so about a kicker replacement

so i just bought a kicker 10in cvt 4ohm
what would happn if i hooked if up to the 100watt 1ohm factory kicker amp?
i have an aftermarket amp but i was just wondering what it would sound like if i just throw it in or would it even be safe ?

if memory serves the stock amp does 100 @ 1 ohm so you would get roughly 25 watts to the sub. kinda pointless.

when i add the line out will the bass value that i use to mess with the stock kicker still work?

again, this is only from memory which isn't that good anymore. you should search on here to find the specifics of the kicker system.

i believe the stock sub gets it signal from the front speakers, so if you are using a line out converter tap into them for the signal. you will have to set the amp gain properly and possibly lower than optimal settings to balance out all the new bass but your normal controls should work as they always did.

i did the same thing in one of my cars (loc) and had to do exactly that - lower the gain. distortion started around say 11 o'clock on the dial but the bass was overpowering the interior speakers. i ended up around 9 o'clock to get a nice balanced sound.

how can i take out the stock speaker wires going to the old sub
its like there anchoredd in there?? do i have to cut them?
