Default security alarm question

hi as a previous srt-4 owner untill a few months ago im asking you guys for advise because i know alot of you have alarms

my new dodge ram got keyed all the way down the passenger side
im thinking a guy from work did it but i dont have concrete prove

i got the truck re painted but im worried he will do it again

will a car alarm go off if someone keys your car?

im looking at a basic viper from best buy model 350 hv

I have a viper alarm, and it may not prevent another keying, however after he does it this time it will. This thing is LOUD, and it instantly sends a message to your remote, no matter where you are, saying that the alarm is going off. Just run out to your truck and see who the suspect is. My old car was keyed as well, and this thing makes me feel a lot better. It also has a blue led that blinks that may scare them off.

keying is possibly the dickest thing someone can possibly do

if I caught someone keying my car I woudn't beat his ass, I would tackle hims ass, call the police and make him pay for a brand new shiney paint job

the reason i think he did it is because....for one he pretended like he was going to key it a few weeks back because i said something about the guys leaning on it..
then last thurday and friday he got pissed because i wouldnt run him to the store at lunch and he was making statements like i dont want to ride in your peice of shit dodge ram

i explained to him that i get up everyday and make a lunch because i dont want to go to the store for myself let alone anyone else

keep in mind im in construction and this is how all of us treat each other
but its always been takin as messing around in fun

An alarm will never stop a vehicle form being keyed. Sitting beside the vehicle with a blunt object might though but that is it.

We have a viper pager alarm with a proximity sensor and it still got keyed.
