Custom bracket has to be made. It has to run off (not controlled) of the ECM. The ECM needs to have some sort of bypass or trick in place so no codes are thrown. Just three I can think of.

You can say it until you're blue in the face. I pm'd him over a year ago when he spoke about having a crack to control the alternator and bringing its output to 14.4. He never responded. I don't doubt that he can do it with the dsp the problem is the feeble amperage the alternator puts out. I say feeble for most big system needs, general use the alternator is great. To upgrade the alternator is just not going to happen with a plug and play under a grand thing.

eBay Store ? Iraggi Alternator and Electronics: Search results for neon.

Iraggi has a few H/O alts that fit our cars. =D

Still doesnt solve the problem with the ECU controlling it though...

I'm currently trying to figure out how to solve my power needs. I'm looking to put 4krms+ in my car and without a H/O alt that seems almost impossible.

Looking around it seems that installing a H/O alt would help. We would still be stuck at stock voltage but have much more current to work with. Anyone have any ideas on this?

i really don't see how you can properly power a true 4k+ system in a neon. i did my big3+ in 0g, stinger svp44 under the hood, kinetic hc600 in the trunk, 1500-1600rms total and i still get dimming when i near the top of my volume limit (35 is max, 31 is clipping limit, dimming starts at 27-28).

That is what I'm afraid of. Either I have to go smaller or run way too many batteries to compensate. This is depressing =(

I may have found what we are needing:

Dodge Modules

Our modules can get you up in the 14.5-15v range or on average 1 full volt above stock voltage. Dcpowerinc is a dealer of MLA as well and we team up to offer good kit deals on alt/module combo sales.

I am going to email them to ask more about this module. From what I see they are able to basically trick the computer into thinking it is seeing stock voltage levels, much like how a MAP clamp works to an extent. I'll let you all know what I find out.

you could just find alternator with a internal voltage regulator then hard wire it to the battery the pcm would lose the control it has over the alt....prob would get cel but it would work cause the internal voltage reg in the alternator would just do its job...pcm cant control anything if you take it out of the loop
