Im booked in to get my new Viper alarm with command start. Only reason I want the command start is cause it carys a Turbo Timer function.
The Key Fob is the new slim Led design.
Guess my question is has anyone had any dealings with the new vipers? Or with the Turbo timer function?
It seems like a money savings instead of buying a alarm then a seperate TT.
Im also going to get 2 window modules put in. So when I arm the alarm my windows go up and sunroof closes. You can also open them from the fob.
My viper alarm in my Dakota is a few years old and has never given me a ounce of trouble. Command start for those nasty Canadian winters has never failed me.
I have the Viper 791xv with all the features and its great. The turbo timer is nice to have built right into the alarm, and having all the windows roll up as you lock the car is extremely nice. I would definitely recommend the alarm.
I have the new 5701 installed and it works great. To activate the turbo timer, with the remote start in manual transmition mode, all you have to do is put the car in remote start standy with the door open.
I have had only two problems with it so far, the buttons on the key fob are easily pressed while in my pocket, so you have to be carefull about what you put in your pocket with the keys, and if you drop the fob the batter cover can go flying off and the batteries fall out. Other than that, its been great.
Make sure they use the manual tranny module to make it more safe to work on a manual tranny'd cars. The system isn't bad although I've had some issues with failing remote controls in the shop.
