Is your remote wire on the amp hooked up???? Your amp may still be on when you turn the ign off..............Which is why it may have sparked when you hooked up the ground.............

yes, everything was hooked up before i put the ground back on. i did power first, then the remote wire and then the ground very last. im trying to make some time after work to take everything out and rewire it all again. hopefully it is something simple. i guess i have to wait and find out. thanks for the help

Did you have your positive and ground connected to the battery when you plugged everything back into the amp? Please say you didn't.......

there would be a slight chance you could have fried the onboard fuses of the amp, harmless and not the source of your problem, just could be dangerous. Next time take the fuse out of your +12v Batt line.

You have a bad ground. Just fix it to some good bare metal and you should be all set. I'm assuming that you are using an aftermarket H/U?

yea i have an aftermarket h/u, everything was working just fine before i took it out. i used the same ground point as before. im thinking during the rush to connect back everything, i flubbed somewhere. but the first thing i will check is the ground side and then go from there. i plan on taking everything back out tomm and checking my wires and reconnecting them. also, if you reverse connections for a speaker to the amp, what will happen( bad sound distortion?) like if i put neg from the speaker to the positive on the amp, what would be the outcome. would that have anything to do with the feedback problem? thanks for the help.

two different subs on a 2 channel amp?it wouldn't matter much if you only had one sub/one set of speaker wires coming off of box (subs wired inside of box), but if you wire one correctly and one opposite one will be pushing while the other is pulling (if that makes sense to you) and will cancel out the majority of your bass. This can be extremely damaging to your subwoofers especially if they share the same airspace.

for instance of i run a pos from the speaker to the neg of the amp and same for other side, what would happen. now with the ground problem, i disconnected the power source and removed my ground wire, cleaned off the paint, reconnected and put power back on. i still have feedback. i'm thinking it cant be fuses because if they were blown nothing would work. i have a cap in the trunk and it has its own ground and i have a seperate ground for the amps. what i dont understand is, everything is hooked up just like it was before. all i did is take it out and put it back in. i dont see why my ground would be bad. im just really pissed at the whole situation. i just fixed my trunk and now this happens. its getting to be like my old cars, you fix one thing and then something else goes wrong. boy i tell yuh.....
