Default My stereo install w/pics

so this weekend I got around to installing at least my new head unit + amp + subs. Didnt have time to install my components, but hopefully when I get back from vacation I can do that. I also need to recarpet the boards with stuff that matches my car at some point, but I just used what I had.

PS, I am aware that some of you don't like Audiobahn, but I got *very* good deals on all my stuff including my A8002T for $130 so please no flaming about that

Anyway here is everything. Ps the Pioneer 9600MP is an awesome deck, I love it!

It looks good. You know I really am holding back about the 'Bahn stuff!!!!!!!

Hopefully I will have pics soon of my system. I need to know how to post pics. I've built a faux stainless steel box with 3d airbrushing all over it.

nice! I'd definately like to see that. The easiest way to post pics is to click on the little thing that looks like a mountain on top of the posting box and then put the url in there. If you need somewhere to host the pictures, I can put them on my server for you.

WOW, you actually mounted those free-air???? I guess that would work ok since they really do need way too much airspace to sound decent. I use to sell 'Bahn but dropped them a few years ago so I know enough about them.

Yeah, I'll PM you with pics when I get them taken. I've been so busy working on everyone elses cars lately that I have not worked on mine. I've had all the stuff sitting in the warehouse now for over a month! I've got the head unit, componets, and 6x9's done. It's amazing how much better it sounds compared to the Kicker system and I don't even have the subs in there yet!

Default Question about power cord for your amp

Nice work! I was curious, I'm trying to install a amp in my SRT-4, and I'm having trouble finding a place to run the power cord through from the inside of the car out to the battery. Did you drill a hole in the floor to get the cord through?

Alot of people use a hanger to get through at the grommet right behind the drivers side strut. I couldnt get one to go through. 15 mins later, I used a wooden stick to poke through, had the wire taped to the other end. Took me a few seconds to get it through that way.

Thanks, but I should have mentioned that the hole is already filled by another wire that is running from my battery to my sub amp, and i'll be running this one from the battery to the amp that powers the speakers. Should I just make the hole bigger? Or is there a second hole to go through?

When running multiple amps I like to use one wire to come in then I split it inside the car. That way I don't have all kinds of power wires going out to the battery.

just use a power distribution block, run one wire to it then you can run multiple wires from distribution block to your amps...

Yep I got the same detector but the Beltronics version, works excellent.

Love the stereo and especially the Audiobahns, have those in my SHO.
