Basically if you get a new one from the dealer theres no worries cause its got a wiring harness and instructions.
If you bought if from a friend you'll have to splice into the rear speaker wires and run a power wire to the head unit. A metal terminal is inserted into the factory stereo's wire harness. Not sure where you could buy the terminal, I had an old wireing harness lying around and yanked one out of that. I grounded the amp as it was shown in the directions.
The sub sounds ok. Gotta have the back seat down to really hear it though.
So, without buying this from the factory, I have to hardwire everything in myself? That's not cool. I was under the impression that it was all there. Now I don't think I'm too into putting this is. I'd prefer to not have to hack up anything to make some thing that's supposed to be factory work.
dude you can buy the harness from the dealership part#RH05SRT4SUBM
bumping an old thread for an answer..
I dont have the factory option of the kicker harness. If i buy this from dodge, how would it install to the factory radio?? any ideas on how much it would be?? any verification on the part number as well?? Thanks

funny, your answer was discussed already in the 3rd post.
wow, thats crazy. I called the mopar super center and he told me he could not get the harness seperate for the kicker. so thats out. I need a wiring diagram or wire colors for my car, then I would be able to splice it in i think. anyone have a how to or anything, Ive searched the forum but came up with just questions about getting the harness, not splicing it in.... Thanks for your help.
found the diagram up top here, I just need to know what to do about getting power. should I splice it in from the speakers or get a fused pos from the front?? also need to know which wires to splice into from the amp to the speakers..
