Any Suggestions for batteries? Ive done the big three, ive reduced my amp's draws, and im still dimming. Ive thought about a dual setup for a while. Any general suggestions would help too. I appreciate it.
(ive also searched for this, it pulled up completely random topics)
Yeah this forum isn't great for researching something this significant. I suggest you go to Car Audio Forum - CarAudio.com and do a little reading on what has been posted there.
Otherwise, here is my suggestion. Obviously, you are just gonna wire the battery in the back post to post and neg to neg with the battery in the front. You could wire the ground of the rear one directly to the chassis, but it's a toss up on whether it's worth it to do that or not.
For the actual brand of batteries, it depends on how much power your system is drawing. Less than 1k watts and as long as you've done the big 3, upgraded the front battery to a deep cycle at minimum, you shouldn't be having dimming problems. You may get some, just because the SRT4's alternator is driven by the ECU, therefore it creates a little lag in the system. Also, you need to make sure all the grounds have clean connections. If you are pushing more than 1k watts, I would consider picking a Kinetic battery that fits your power level for the back, and a nice deep cycle for the front. Kinetic's and Optima's I've heard have been some good choices in the car, but really it's up to you on the performance/price mix.

Hope that helps some.
Thats all i needed to hear! Thanks! Ps i was planning on relocating both batteries to the back for hood space + i have 2 nice wrinkle black battery boxes laying around
I have got a Kinetik HC800, 950 amps under the hood. It's about the size of a Honda battery and a HC 2400, 2600 amp battery in the rear. These 2 guys power all my stereo and av gear with NO issues. I can also play my XBOX 360 for over 4 hours with the key OFF. GOOD LUCK! AND NO DIMMING ! BSBOB
YES, no alternator, pcm volt control, thats whats going on. A lot of the guys with different tuning controls are raising the voltage to 14+, but we still haven't heard if it's gonna benefit the BIG stereo guys. Maybe someone with a diablo could chime in? BSBOB
well heres what went down, i had MORE key off booming time ( completely useless ) and it solved a little bit of dim, but now since i installed my hids with the relay kit from retrofitsource, itll randomly blink fast. I think i need to check my grounds. :| I hate our cars in this respect.
