Default CompuStar Service

I originally got mine installed in 2007. Now I took it to get serviced and was told that the brain is outta date and the technology is dead. Installer said everything is done through a computer now. Anybody know where I can get mine serviced without buying a new brain? Im in NJ

If I connect the alarm, it blows my 25a fuse for "STP Lights." And I end up with no tail lights. If I disconnect the alarm, the fuse is good to go.

Easy fix. Put a diode in line with the park light output on the compustar. That will stop any grounding issue that the compustar is causing. If after the diode is installed and the fuse still blows then i very highly doubt it is not the compustar doing this.

Now is it just your tail lights that don't work when you blow a fuse or all your park lights?

What is the model number of your compustar brain? Right now the CM5000 is one of the main units used now and come January the CM6000 brain is going to be used.

Just because the newer units may be flashed via computer doesnt mean that lazy asshole installer shouldnt/couldnt fix the issue at hand which is obviously related to the wiring
or did it not do it originally and just recently started doing this?
He should be able to check the wiring and stop being lazy
its also a possibility its a bad alarm brain which even in that case he can still take a look at it
I assume the unit has a lifetime warranty like dei units have?
If so he can check the wiring and if thats not it he can give you the alarm to send out to the company to have them fix it and send back to you

Well it is obviously not wired right. All your park lights should flash together, not just the tail lights.

Definately take it back to whoever installed it and get them to fix it. Any reputable shop will back their work and fix any wiring issues.
