is it the s12l7-2 or s12l7-4? knowing the voice coil configuration determines the final ohm load and affects which amps will work best for you. the sub itself can handle 750rms so anything 500 and over should work nicely. here are the box specs from kicker:

Min Rec Sealed Box Volume (CU. FT., Liters) .88, 24.9
Max Rec Sealed Box Volume (CU. FT., Liters) 2.0, 56.6
Min Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 1.75, 49.6
Max Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 3.25, 92.1

so look for an amp that does 500-750rms at 2 ohms and you should be fine.

Well I'd like to keep it under 250. As long as it isn't too rediculous

You can get an alpine MRD-M605 for around that price. Runs around $199 online and puts out about 600RMS.. Great reviews on it too!
