Default Battery Questions

Can we please get a sticky for replacement batteries.

AKA what upgrade batteries people have used? What intakes they have (for fitment issues)? And if any modifications were necessary?

I just searched through like 12 pages, so I'm feeling like a sticky is in order.

heh my stock 04 battery's neg terminal blew up not to long ago. heard it was a common problem with stock batteries from the mechanic who reflashed my S1. But i took it to dodge under warranty issues, and they gave me a better lookin battery then what came in mine, nice lil 18mth warranty of that too. good thing cause me 3yr warranty ends in dec

Jesse: Thanks for the pics. But which red top is that? Also, since your not using the standard battery tray, is it just sitting there or do you have it tied down somehow?

Thanks

well on optima bateries you have the red top wich is the one i have ( it has a red top) then you have the blue top and the yellow top
the diference betwen these is the red is beginer entree mode the blue is mid competition and the yellow is full competition thats all and for the tray im using the stock one and it even uses the original tie downs just like if it where your original batery ill see if i can get more pics by tomorrow showing the tie down and more in detail of how and where the battery sits hope this helps

If you go to Optimas website they explain each battery and its inteneded purpose. The red top is like a normal replacement battery. The yellow top battery is a deep cycle intended for car use. The blue top is their marine deep cycle battery intended for...........marine use. Here is a link to their web site.
