as far as extra parts? Some sort of bypass to get past SKIM.

as far as installation? Assuming they hooked up the entire Ignition Harness, you will need to interface with the clutch, interface with a clean tach signal, possibly hook into your brake wire, install the SKIM bypass, hook into your e-brake, and possibly do some programming.

If you are not versed in the installation of alarms/remote starters (and I mean have a VERY good understanding of 12v electronics and have the proper tools) then I would NOT recommend you do this yourself. Find a local who does install these for a living and have them take care of it for you, problem being the shop that installed the Alarm will most likely void any warranty on the unit if they see their install was tampered with.

Now they told me to bypass the factory setup I would have to give up my extra key to the bypass unit.Is that right? Are all bypass units going to be like that? I do know 12v real well I didn't do the install because the manul was pretty brod & didn't give much detail

that is incorrect.
get a bypass kit... BypassKit.com - Direct source for Bypass Kit and databus interface solutions: No Key Required

it gets programmed as essentially a third key to the ignition system.

You just use an iDatalink bypass. They work awesome.
