Question aftermarket amp on the stock sub?

is there a way to hook up a after market amp on the stock kicker sub?
i have tried already to hook up the amp to the sub but seems to make no difference in the sound? am i missing something here?

why bother with the stock sub if your going through the trouble of installing an after market amp?

the car was already wired for a amp.. have a amp sitting and collecting dust.... i have 2 12's that the box is too big to get in the trunk.. want to be able to keep my trunk and not spend a whole lot of money.

you can still use the same stock box just trash the stock sub. I picked up a new Memphis sub for cheap.
