Default 2003 alternator in a 2005

Will it work???
I like that the 2003 has a 160 amp alternator and it would really help things out in my car
Im sure I can get someone to rewind mine or make me a new one at one of the performance alternator shops in town but I think 160 amps will be sufficient and was just curious if anyone had swapped them and if so was any modifications needed?

the alt is externally regulated so it will cost you quite a bit to buy an aftermarket alt and the additional parts to use it to it's fullest extent. it's not impossible but i would guess you would be looking at $350-500 for everything.

Here is a thread with some discussion about alternators, in which discussion of swapping in a 2003 was mentioned. I don't know of anyone that has actually tried the swap though.

Alternator ideas
