This thread is open to anyone that want's to post weather photography but I'm going to use it to post up stuff from my storm chasing. Anytime there's a storm that looks worthwhile I immediately grab all my gear and hop in a car
Today was fun(first time going out this year) but nothing really happened. LOTS of flooding.
Before the storm this was a little creek no deeper than a half a foot like a ditch. It flooded so bad that you can't even see the banks that were no wider than a couple feet.
This is a panoramic of where it was heading ... EVERYWHERE!
One of the cells that caused all this had a LITTLE rotation that made a funnel for literally 2 seconds then back up it went.(right above the green sign) If only a picture showed rotation lol
I'll update this thread with more photos as often as I can
P.S. Some of the photos aren't edited or meant to look good at all. This is more so photo documentary of storm chasing but if things slow down enough I do try to take nice photos

here ya go.........crappy shot, i used some cheap p&s laying around.
this is called a "shamal".........strong winds pick up all the dust in the middle east and manage to dump it on Iraq, lol.
while the camera was crappy, i can assure you that the color is fairly accurate (albeit a bit blown out), it looked like Mars outside. the guy walking towards me was about 40 feet away.
i will try and get better pics with my real camera one of these days. this happens like 30 times a year or more, lol.
ive always wanted to do a bit of storm chasing.there is hardly anything ever eventful out here. An occasional tornado maybe.
taking meteorology a year ago only fueled me wanting to do it lol
It's even more thrilling when you travel to an unknown town far away ... even more so in a different state. Even around here it's just thrilling to DRIVE ... I don't even pay attention where I'm going lol I just go out into the country get to the W/SW of a storm and then follow it and sometimes try to intercept. Then after its all over get on the computer and figure out where in the hell I am More storms coming through tomorrow ... we'll see if I can get anything

Ive always wanted to go chasing but never have.. I live in North Texas so we get some nasty weather but a lot of it pass right by us and hits east TX pretty hard!!! One day tho Ill take a trip up to OK and hopefully get to catch a torando in person...
More goodness happening after work tonight. I just hope I can borrow my grandparents car again FML! And FMSRT4!
Should be 2 hours of severity before the sun sets so hopefully I can get something then. Then after the sun sets theres about another 2 hours of severity so good time to catch some lightning shots.
