Nope, watermark is just for internet pictures/website. On orignal prints.. it doesn't appear. That is all controlled by my website. Small watermarks are pointless.

Meh, I think watermarks are dumb in the first place, but it's whatever. Draws away from the subject waaaay too much.

If you are actually making money from photography.. and you don't watermark your images in some shape form or fashion.. Then you are just plain retarded.

Now... If a parent of someone who I take pictures for decides to try and take one of the pictures off my website.. Then it will have my watermark on it.. And a print place will not print them. And If I know these people personally.. or if I see the pictures.. then i know that they have been ripped off my site.

They could go in and try to remove it.. which they could.. but that is more work for them.. and they actually have to know how to do that.. rather than me just basically giving them free digital images of their pictures.

How hard could it be to crop a watermark out?
Haven't you seen that PC commercial were the little girl makes the picture 'better' and crops it n' shit. I realize that it's just a commercial but it think you're underestimating the knowledge of the general public.

If they wanted to steal your shit it wouldn't be that hard imo. And who really likes going thru legal situations especially over a picture?

Plus didn't you get the memo? Water marks were so 2 years ago along with thick borders

If they want to crop, more power to them.. that ruins the aspect of the original image. Like I said.. If they wanted to get rid of the watermark they could.. but its better to have nothing than something.

Why install a security system.. or locks on your house? If someone wants to get in.. they WILL get in no matter what... But its better to have something rather than just leaving your door wide open.

And yea.. I realized borders/name on picture was retarded as soon as I even thought about making prints. This isn't on the original pictures.. I don't even apply it to the pictures... as I said.. smugmug does that for me.
