Default Looking for a budget Macro lens?

Any of you guys recommend a good Macro lens for Nikon? I'm looking for $400 or less bucks.

I'd like a good mix of Nikkor lenses and non Nikkor lenses to look at.

good macro and $400 or less don't go together.. haha.

what do you want macro shots of? I would suggest the Nikkor 60mm macro.. its what I use.. I have AF-S.. but it is less expensive without it... The downfall of the lens though is that you have to get right on top of your subject... unlike if you had the 105mm macro.. you could step back some.

Not sure what I want to take shots of, but I certainly don't want to limit myself too drastically, then regret the purchase later.

I'm hearing good things about this Tamron 90mm.

Kenko | Auto Extension Tube Set DG for Nikon Lens | AEXTUBEDGN

$170 and it will meter and AF, not that AF is that important when doing macro anyway.

I have a set and they are great.

I have one of these. The bokeh looks kind of weird with it but it works decent, especially for the price. Not a true macro though (1:2) but you can be 6 feet away from your subject and its a pretty decent (again, for the price) telephoto.
