Default Cabin in the mountains

Just a couple pictures I took while we were in the PA State college Tussey Mountains... Shitty manual focus 300mm lens on my D60. I had to bump up the ISO cuz the lighting was bad in the woods. The Bears could have been better IMO, so not too happy how they came out. Oh well... didn't really have time to think much when the bears came out and surprised us!

What was the ISO at?

A note to remember.. Grainy is better than blurry.

I think it was at 200 and some at 400. I took a lot and these were some of the better ones. The manual focus was kind of a pain in the ass when your objects are moving the whole time.

Thanks man. I really need a Nikkor AF-S lens with my D60. It was kinda funny/scary when the bears approached the cabin. My wife was standing by the camp fire facing the fire, and the back of her legs started to get cold so she just turned around to warm them up... and there was this bear with her cubs coming through the woods right up behind her!

Well, remember with a non VR 70-300mm which is what I assume it was.. at 300mm you don't need to have a shutter speed slower than the length of the lens. So it would need to be above 1/300th.

Like I said.. Its always better to have a grainy picture than a blurry one because of shake.. You can fix grainy.. Its impossible to fix blur/oof
