Go see Ken Weir at the Oshawa Future Shop he is my old apprentice and he does very good work and you will get a life time warranty tell him Fred sent you.....go with a compustar or viper....I prefer compustar as viper is kind of behind the times.....

I've been using a compustar 2w900fmr since a month after I bought my car years ago.

yeah you can do that, or goes to the place which cleans up half the messes which come out of Future Shop/Bestbuy whitby. personally, i'll go with the guys who have been around 30 years. good luck

ha must not have been when I was there I managed the Whitby bay for 2yrs that was about 7yrs ago now......I remember fixing countless cars from custom and Whitby HiFi I got story's about the messed up things they did that would make you scratch your head I'm sure many many more then they have ...........I hear after I left to come open the Belleville store the Whitby bay went down hill because I left to go to Belleville and my apprentice Ken went to open the new Oshawa store. They had to bring in some guys that were not so hot and I used to get calls from them asking for help and they did mess up a few cars but hey Future Shop gives a life time warranty and will pay for any damage made by an installer where your mom and pop shops well they like cash so when things go bad they can go "what install? do you have a receipt?"...Custom and HiFi are famous for doing that....I have a stack of thank you letters from customers from Whitby that I fixed botched jobs for...I even had a hand full of customers who started driving to Belleville from Durham for me to work on their cars.

Also its not about how long they have been in business its about how experienced their installers are!. I never seen anything come out of custom or HiFI that impressed me they are far from being high end shops that's for sure. OH and most of the installers at the mom and pop shops were fired from Future Shop for fucking up cars I know one is at HIFI and one is at 2001 and I believe a guy who backed out a car with the door open is currently employed at Custom......

I have 12yrs experience I've done it all when it comes to car audio I have been to the daytona beach nationals I have held the DB drag SS 1-2 no wall title, I held Canadian DB records and always placed top 5 in SQ and SQL competitions....I have had cars featured in magazines and have built demo cars for RF, Alpine, Mmats, PPI, Orion, CV, Fusion and Bazooka to name just a few....I have worked with some huge installers namely Fishman on a RF project and was offered a job managing the Dubai location of West Coast Customs so to say all installers who work or worked for FS suck is a little misinformed......mom and pop shop= $15/hr max ......Future Shop/Best Buy= $20/hr with commission+ 100% medical and Dental room for advancement and a pension plan....don't hate the guys who leave the m&p shops for the big boxes can you blame us?......

Again Ken at the Oshawa location is an amazing installer make sure you talk to him directly!!! anyone who only speaks to the sales guys when getting an install done are mental always speak to the installers who will be doing the work to make sure they know whats going on and your expectations we are not mind readers.......
