Default What's she worth?

Sup dudes, negotiating with a dealer right now for a trade-in of my car.

Need to get an idea of what a 2005 would go for, with just under 90,000km on it. I see there are a few on Autotrader that are somewhere around $10-12k - is this a reasonable estimate for what these cars are worth?

Oh, and I'm looking for the price in CANADIAN dollaz - so if you're from the 'states, see ya!

Oh, and anyone wanna buy it? I've taken reeeeeal good care of 'er!

it may be "worth" 12gs but they wont give you that as a trade in. (they need to sell it for around that)

So to be honest you may get 7-8gs as a trade in. sucks i know but thats what happens as a trade

look into a private sale.. might be better off!!

just my .02

Guy called me back - said he managed to get a little more than we thought - $9000.

I think I'm going to just take it - it sounds fair to me since they have to sell it with taxes added, and try to make a few bucks. Paying a price for the convenience factor, but it's worth it I guess. Might take a while to get a private sale done.

Didn't call him. The guy I am dealing with is in Oakville - just a random contact. The guy seems like a really good guy - I got a good feeling when I saw lots of Maple Leafs stuff in his office.

Just put down a deposit. Apparently my car has just landed in BC this morning. Going to Vegas on Monday, then I should get it when I come back. Maybe I'll be able to pay cash!

$9k is really high on a trade in. As others noted, take it and run. At auction they go for far less these days, particularly in your neck of the woods. The cars are practically paperweights in Ontario unless you sell privately. Guess its that whole I can't drive 55 without threat of being crushed thing....

pffff I would never spend anywhere near $35k on any hyundai junk go get a new STi or EVO

MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION in WOODBRIDGE, ontario - AutoTrader

SUBARU WRX STI in MISSISSAUGA, ontario - AutoTrader

sorry but for the price of the hyundai there are much better cars available the Challenger and Camaro also come to mind...sure you would have to get the V6 but what are you going to loose your looking at a damn hyundai...oh and few other much better coupes to look at are the RX8, S2000, G35, G37, 350Z, BMW Z4, Audi TT, BMW 128i and the new mustang GT are all in the same price range as the hyundai.....I have no idea how anyone would buy the hyundai with the above choices in the same price range you would be stupid to do it.....that's my honest opinion not to mention your taking a 30% loss on the hyundai the moment it rolls off the lot.

I would buy the hyundai if it was a reasonable price I see nothing on that car that makes it worth $35k+ handling is crap its a pig and its slow as hell 15sec? that's 2L Cavalier territory I think my wife's SX 2.0 is faster......

Black book on an '05 is between $7,200 and $8,700. $9k sounds good, but make sure they don't pad the car you're buying.

Always treat a trade-in and a new purchase as two completely different transactions.

Yep - it's in BC right now, they've sent over Korea's finest...

I'll have it in 1-2 weeks, just waiting for it to be shipped over to Ontario. A nice shiny new white car with blacked-out headlights and 19" wheels is coming my way. Managed to get one without navigation, so I save $1500 by not having something I do not want. Good times!

Richard

They tried to sell me red again. I said no way, I settled for red with the SRT and I'm not doing it again. At least this time the car is still in production...

I like the stock rims it comes with - might need to be dropped about an inch, though.
