Hey Joe,

That is correct and all the other rules that you read apply as well...So what else or what type of information are you looking for???
IF your asking do they enforce the rules....I would say most of the time yes but a certain car has gone faster then 11.49 where a roll bar is required but has yet to get flagged and hopefully wont anytime soon....

I also remember reading that you need a helmet at 13.99 or faster, but when I talked to the guy doing tech inspections, he told me it's 12.99 or faster.

He lied to you. It's 13.99. I was told to put a helmet on when I ran 13.40.

Well, they need get more consistent with their rule enforcement.

I didn't start using my helmet until I got below 13.2, and I had MANY runs in the mid-low 13's where they didn't say a thing about needing a helmet. But that was last year, perhaps they have gotten more strict since then.

One wonders how they decide at exactly what point a helmet should be worn.

Last few years John was at the Slip booth and he would give you a "warning" and as long as within the next two times out to the track you complied as is good...Tech also will ask question but this is very in consistent...Sometimes Tech is the third degree and other times it is "oh I've seen this car before and mark up your numbers and class...

What is the SFI 41.1 Transmission shield? Also what is the barrier firewall and is our stock battery secured by the minimum 3/8" bolts? How would i get a DOT driver's licence? Thanks,
Joe

The 13.99 requirement for the helmet has been that way for YEARS

it's been for the 10 years I've been racing... and prolly for a hell of a lot longer than that

As far as the battery bolt and all that crap... basically if your car is mostly stock they won't check... is they just want to be sure that your battery is secure.

as long as you pretty much follow the personal saftey rules for the times your running you will be fine

helmet, cage, fire suit, suppresion system...
