Default Removing Rear Seats

Hey all, maybe a stupid question, but how do you remove the rear bench seat, both the upper section and bottom cushion? FYI, I am getting a leather seat upgrade (leather covers coming soon) and I also need to run the wire harness for the rear power windows (already here).

Thanks in advance, if you can help me out.

On the Seat Bottom, Just give a good pull UP on the front edge, there are two catches right around where the left and right passenger would sit.

Then you can get at the Torx Head bolts for the Seat Back. There are 4. I think it is a T25 head, but don't quote me, the are Big anyway. With all those out, the Seat back hangs in place on two hooks which catch on slots in the sheet metal, around the bottom of the head rest... Just lift up about an inch or so and then out.

15 minutes tops.. But make sure you have the right size Torx in advance.

Cheers,
MK

Yeah.. well I said it was big... Canuck Just cause you know everything... mr. SmArty PantZ! ha ha ha.

Nice job on the Schematics Kelly!

Chris, if you don't have a big enough torx, and want to save a few bucks i can lend you mine, i could meet you over lunch one day this week (not Tuesday but...) Otherwise you can get them at Crappy Tire. They are in the Automotive specialty tools section made by Lisle.

That's awesome Kelly, thanks a bunch.

Ryan, thanks for the offer for the socket. I'm thinking that I may just go out and by the T55 Torx socket, seeing that I may have other uses for it.

Well, maybe if we ask nice, chris will weigh all the parts while he has them out. My guess is 6 lbs for the bottom and 24 for the back.

My buddy took out the rear of his mazdaspeed - The spools and hardware for the rear belts alone were like 12lbs a piece or something.
