Default Reliability and power for a daily driver

Hi, I owned a red 2004 srt-4 and it is stock for now...I live in Canada so for now its in my garage waiting for spring(damn country with 4months at -20 lol)

I will drive this car everyday to go to work in heavy traffic....but i want more power so i can smoke the new v8 stang...my friend has one and hes telling me that a 4cyl turbo neon will never passed him...i wanna show him how my car can beat him...but stock i dont think I stand a chance... I heard there was stages from mopar and other stuff to get more power....im not the kind of person who likes to tweak with ebc, wideband and other stuff like that...i just want to keep it easy, safe and RELIABLE...dont want to change my engine after 60 000km and I dont want a voided warranty ...anyway what could i get to passed that damn mustang hehe..one guy of the forum told me that a stage 2 with cat-back beeing the only mod would hang with a 2006 stang...what do u think of that..thanks

Stock for stock the 2 cars are a drivers race, stage 2 will beat a new stang with the quickness. Stage 2 is the way to go for somone who dosent want to tune but still wants a cheap quick car.

Mopar Stage 2 with exhaust will do the trick. Its possible to keep warranty with it as well, perhaps if the dealer installs it...

You won't have to mess with tuning and it will still be reliable but with a little more kick..

I would say get stage 1 and a full 3inch exhaust with 02 housing. That alone should get you to beat a stock stang easily if you can drive.

If you are worried about voiding your warranty, go to your dealership and talk with the head mechanic. Ask them what you can do to the car and still keep your warranty. Some will void it if you throw stage 1 on, others will let you do everything but big turbo. It really depends.

in my opinion the best combo goes to:
50 trim turbo + stage 2 @ 14psi set up.

With this you can make 300 whp easily. Unlike 300 makes from stock turbo, with this setup you have DRIVABILITY! no PTB, compressor surge, the throttle response is just like stock. yet when you need power just floor the gas. With 14psi of boost, no tuning device is needed yet.
