I don't currently have an SRT-4 and never really ever considered it to be something I'd buy but after lurking on this site for a few weeks I'm becoming curious. My cousin just bought a new SX 2.0 and I realize that the SRT-4 and the SX 2.0 are completely different but after sitting in her car I have some questions. I didn't find the seats particularly comfortable and I've been reading that the SRT's come with Viper seats. Are these seats a big upgrade over the stock SX 2.0 seats? Are they that much better? Another thing I haven't been able to find out for sure is if the SRT-4 has cruise control? I think I'd miss this feature as I use it all the time on my Dakota. Gas mileage is another concern of mine. My fellow Canadians know about our gas prices here and currently 87 octane is 77.9 cents per litre. How much does it cost you to fill up your cars when they are empty and roughly how many kilometers do you get out of a tank? I believe the SRT 4 has a tank size of 12.5 gallons? I run Premium in my truck and it's costing me roughly $50 to $55 per fill up and I am only getting between 400km and 440km per tank depending on how I drive, idling etc. Next questions are regarding performance upgrades. I see there are Stage 1, 2 and 3 kits. Are all of these kits available currently, seems to me only Staqe 1 is available now and parts of Stage 2 are becoming available lately? These are Mopar Performance kits, no? Therefore these kits could be purchased as part of the car just like any other Mopar Accessory such as my Mopar Tonneau Cover? Also, are the Stage 1 and Stage 2 kits in themselves enough? Are there other "must have" mods to go with these? Educate the newbie time. Hey, if you have questions about modding a Ram or Dakota, I'll help you out... haha...
The seats in my opinion are completely different and I love em. The first two tanks I filled up so far I've gotten 310km and 320km out of, it cost me $30 to fill everytime or 39 litres whatever you prefer. The Stage 1 is currently available, it is a Mopar part but it's not warrantied because it's a performance part. There are a lot of upgrades for the car, just do a quick search and you'll find a lot of good stuff.
That kind of gas mileage seems pretty good to me, 330km's on 39 litres of fuel. I'd take that over what I'm getting now anyday. The reason I was curious about the Mopar Performance parts such as the Stage 1, 2 and 3 is because when financing the car I could get the cost of the parts just added on to the cost of the car without having to put money out of my immediate pocket. Know what I'm saying? Okay, so bare with me some more here. What are the differences between the different stages? What comes with them and is there anything else needed with them? Like for instance, if I purchased a car in say January or February, the Stage 2 kit could be added on but what does this come with and would I need other mods for it to work to it's potential? In other words, are there "must haves" for the safety of the car and performance wise that "should" go with the different stages? I'd like to be able to order a car with the appropriate Stage kit and not have to fork over much money out of my pocket at a later date to get it all running right.
Again, I really appreciate the response. I was getting a little worried when there were 30 views but no responses.
Hey, dont have an srt (yet)... but to answer some of your questions... regarding the stages, u r looking at the dealer covering u under warranty for stage 1, all the dealers I spoke to in t.o. anyways, since its a mopar part. Stage 2 and 3 I guess we'll worry about when they come out.
The seats are good, I testdrove one, they feel real nice.
